Sharing a Copilot Page with a client

Copilot Pages is made for working with colleagues: a page you share inside your organisation, which opens in Loop. Microsoft says external users can’t open a shared Copilot Page by link, so a client outside your tenant can’t see it unless both organisations have set up cross-tenant guest access. To send the work to a client, save it as a file and publish it on QuickHost, with a password, a link per person and open tracking.

Fair is fair

When is Copilot Pages the better choice?

For drafting with colleagues inside Microsoft 365, Copilot Pages is the better tool: it lives with your files in SharePoint or OneDrive, follows your organisation’s sharing rules, and lets people edit the page together in Loop. It can also run small code apps inside a page.

Choose Copilot Pages if

  • Everyone who needs it is inside your Microsoft 365 organisation
  • You want to edit it together in Loop
  • Your organisation’s sharing rules should apply

Choose QuickHost if

  • It’s going to a client outside your organisation
  • It needs a password, a link per person or an expiry date
  • You want to know when they opened it
  • The client should comment without a Microsoft account

The difference

Where does Copilot Pages fall short for client work?

Copilot Pages was built for collaboration inside one organisation. Sending work to someone outside it is where it stops.

  • Guests can’t open it by link

Microsoft says external users (guests) can’t access shared Copilot Pages directly via link, and Copilot Notebooks don’t support external sharing.

  • It opens in Loop

A shared Page opens in Microsoft Loop, inside your organisation’s workspace, rather than as a standalone page your client can open in a browser.

  • No password or record of opens

Microsoft documents no password, view count or per-link expiry date for Pages. Access follows your SharePoint and OneDrive sharing settings.

  • One page, not a site

A Copilot Page is saved as a .page file. Its in-page code apps run inside the page rather than at a web address you can send.

How does Copilot Pages’s pricing compare?

Copilot Pages is included for work and school accounts with SharePoint or OneDrive storage, even without a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence, and for Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, Premium and Pro subscribers. QuickHost is a separate subscription, from $8 a month.
